Broken. Disheveled. Discouraged. Barely clinging to hope. Those are the words that encapsulate where I found myself as I picked up Priscilla Shirer’s book, Fervent. I felt broken by the looming threat of marital dissolution. Earlier in 2015, my husband and I separated and I found myself contemplating divorce as the year neared its cyclic close. I looked in the mirror and I was emotionally and spiritually disheveled from the harsh beating inflicted by gusty winds of uncertainty and icy storms of confusion. Discouragement over the future lurked along my horizon and I was barely clinging to hope. I sat alone in my small, one bedroom apartment and, through tears, opened the pages of one of the most life changing books I’ve read. Ever. Immediately, I was incited against the dark forces that had held me captive for the last year. Things about myself that I had forgotten began to resurface in my memories. New words emerged. Called. Equipped. Armed. Empowered. Only moments into the pages, a shift began to occur in my thinking and suddenly, I felt a surge of strength. Of passion. Of purpose. Of anger. How dare the enemy aim to rob me of not only my identity in Christ, but also all of those things for which Christ died on my behalf. To hell with you, devil, became the new message ringing in my ears as I began to take captive every defeating and disheartening thought that had occupied my mind prior to opening the Spirit saturated pages of Shirer’s book. As the words took root in my heart, I began to see that this was no ordinary volume. It wasn’t written for the sweet child who prays innocently for a piece of candy after dinner. Neither was it addressed to the prideful Pharisee type who offers up prayers of gratitude that he’s not like others. It wasn’t even written to the one who already has a strong and faithful prayer life. No, it was written to the worn out, desperate woman who’s on the edge of the seat of despair. To the one who is about to give up. To her who is considering quitting. It was written to the defeated, the hopeless, and discouraged. It was written to me. So if that’s also you…if you’ve lost your fight, forgotten your position of victory, or feel your candle is about to burn out, allow me to recommend Priscilla Shirer’s Fervent. Reading it will leave you changed. Hungry for victory. Angry over the enemy’s lies. Fervent in prayer.
This is a five star book. If you struggle with what to say in prayer or feel intimidated in front of others. This will give you tools to fight the enemy from a victory standpoint.

I was so excited to see a new book on prayer by Priscilla Shirer, Fervent A Woman's Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer.
Full confession here, I am rather the Priscilla Shirer fan. I find her books to be direct, practical and very scripture based. Having said that, this may just be my absolute favorite of all of her books. I judge how well I like a Christian book by how many little sticky flags I place on the pages. I often will quote these thoughts in my ministry (giving full credit of course). This one is covered in little purple flags!
I love the organization of this book. As usual, Ms. Shirer is very organized in the way she writes. She begins with a basic coverage of prayer and specifically regaining your passion for prayer. She then covers nine specific categories she believes we should be addressing in our prayer life our focus, our identity, our family, our past, our fears, our purity, our pressures, our hearts and our relationships.
Each chapter begins with a little "If I were your enemy" thought. I loved these and have already quoted one on the Parenting Like Hannah Facebook page. It's a great way for her to frame a la C.S. Lewis how Satan must view his plans to derail us from the life God meant for us to live. The chapter is filled with her personal experiences and her insights based on scripture.
One of my favorite parts of this book is that it is filled with scripture. She not only gives the citations within the book, but provides the quotes as well. This is always my pet peace about Christian books - having to flip back and forth within the book or between the book and the Bible to check out scriptures. Kudos to her for making it easy. Sometimes she adds her own thoughts after the scripture, but often she lets them stand on their own.
I won't steal her thunder by quoting lots of passages. Let me just say this book is very practical, very well organized, very thought provoking and very scripture based. If you read my blog regularly, I rarely say you must absolutely own a book. I want to be respectful of your finances. I often say this book is worth reading, but to me that is very different from being a "must read". This in my opinion is one of those "must reads". It even has a tear out section in the back for prayers you can take with you wherever you go.
If you want help with your prayer life, I am sure there are plenty of resources that may help you. I personally would choose to purchase this one. I really think it has the tools you need to enrich, enhance and even jump start your prayer life.

Priscilla has written a book on prayer that is as practical as they come. It's not a theoretical dissertation on prayer. It's a nuts and bolts "let's get on our knees and get after it" guide. Step by step coverage of ten different areas of your life passion, focus, identity, family, past, fears, purity, pressures, hurts and relationships. She includes numerous specific scriptures for each of these ten areas. If this book doesn't motivate you in the war against the enemy of your soul I don't know what will. "Prayer is the portal that brings the power of heaven down to earth. It is kryptonite to the enemy and to all his ploys against you....His reign of terror stops here. Stops now. He might keep coming, but he won't have victory anymore."

Joseph's book presents an astonishing story of a global conflict between earth and alien entities that has been on-going since WW I. I have read about some of these conflicts in bits and pieces in other UFO books and the Net, but was shocked by the scope and gravity with which they were taking place (land, sea, air, and space). The encounters become more credible once you examine the substantial references used to support what the author is claiming and they match stories found in other material. I am bewildered as to why something this important is not more widely known or gone viral by now (government cover-up?).
Some of the incidences were skirmishes, others were downright full-blown combat with notable fatalities and substantial damages on both sides. The aliens clearly have technological superiority, but seem to demonstrate weaknesses as well. This book contradicts other credible sources which proclaim aliens mean us no harm. Which scenario is correct?
Apparently, world governments have plenty of alien bodies and downed alien craft as indicated in the text. Given the scope of events and the "leaks" from military personnel, in-the-know government officials, informed academics, citizen witnesses, and FOIA documents, these events will come to fruition in a dramatic way at some "trigger" point in the future.
My brain is still trying to process what I have read. The author suggests that aliens are here to contain our hostile behavior or ...conquest.
I gave this book five stars because much of what is being claimed appears to be well sourced and corroborated by other documents independent of the author's references. He is doing us a great service by exposing it in one comprehensive text. The book is definitely worth the read. Note Figure 4.1 does not match descriptions in the text.

I have read hundreds of books on UFO"s over the last 50+ years. This book is mind blowing! Yes, I knew of the 1942 ship over LA, but everything else discussed was new to me. I am still processing a lot of what I learned here. I am looking at UFO"s and the secrecy of all nations with a new insight. I am no longer surprised that they do not discuss. This book is a little scary, as one can project that what is happening may eventually lead to a bad ending for humanity. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone interested in this subject. When you learn of the shoot downs of their ships and ours in all countries and times since World War 1, and the pilots and ships and subs that have suffered from contact, your understanding of this subject will be greatly enhanced.
The author went into previously published works for stories and he found stories on the internet, stitched them all together chronologically, and produced this book. I am pretty sure that is all the research he did. Most of those sources are highly suspect with no real research done and in some cases, like the missing submarines, he really has to reach to tie those to UFO's. A few stories he adds go into detail but they were old stories, researched by others. Most of the stories are typical of bright lights seen and chased by military aircraft, but there are also stories of the military shooting down UFO's and lots of alien bodies recovered--no good sources to back those up. Some stories are just out there, like the UFO's that were four miles in length. Here is my favorite "The aliens then combined themselves into a white sphere of bright light that buzzed, hissed and finally exploded, transforming twenty-three of the enlisted men into stone" (p211). Okay. There are also claims that aliens have shot down Russian and American missiles and have taken over bases at Minot and Byelokoroviche. The majority of the stories are sketchy and sound like rumors. Lots of illustrations. Every chapter has 3-7 pictures but out of all those pictures, only 4 have purported UFO's in them.
Here is one very telling quote from the book "The fundamental similarity of these individual experiences reinforce the trustworthiness of these reports" (p234). In other words, "I have no proof but the stories are alike so they must be true." If you want to spend money on UFO books, buy books by authors like Jacques Vallee who has really done research.
I'm 70 and I've been reading UFO books since I was a teenager. But I wasn't aware of the scope of military engagements with these craft. Apparently the secret keepers are even better at the obfuscation of the truth than I could have ever dreamed. In which case, the contents of this book are no doubt just scratching the surface of the real truth. The general public of civilized earth needs to know this information as soon as possible. But I hold no hope that this will happen. Meanwhile, we had better all hold on to our seats because when "they" out there choose to execute their ultimate plan for Earth, whatever that may be, those who live through it are in for a really tough time.

A real eye-opener! While I'd heard of skirmishes between the military & UFOs before, I'd never read anything with this much detail. Nor did I realize that the phenomena was worldwide. It seems there's a lot more going on that is continually being covered up by the govt..

This was a book I had preordered and after reading the description of the book , I was not sure how I would like silhouetted pictures. I have to say I absolutely love this book. There are 31 pictures in the book. Pictures with beautiful head wraps , beautiful gowns decorated with patterns in the traditional African designs. The background includes animals, plants, and ornaments. The pages are perforated and printed on one side only for easy removal.
Another great coloring book. At first I was undecided because I like to see samples of what I'm buying but I went ahead and bought it, actually two of them, one for my daughter also. Her books are great and I have never been disappointed in any of her art. This book is fun! I colored the jewelry on the silhouette and it pops nicely with glitter gel pens. Its a fun coloring book. We both love it and I can't wait for her others to come out. I will be buying them. Sight unseen because all of her books are just wonderful and fun to color in!! I also love the thickness of the pages! Please keep them coming! There are at least three more and I will be Pre-ordering them soon. Thank you for these wonderful coloring books. To a great artist!
All of Marjorie’s books are beautiful, but this one is really special. I love the beautiful silhouettes of the African ladies with all the gorgeous images surrounding them to color. You can use bright colors, pastel colors or various shades of one color. No matter how you color them they always look incredible. If you love to color and especially love Marjorie Sarnat’s work, treat yourself and order your copy today! I have mine and I love it!
I have not been able to put this book down since it arrived a few days ago. The possibilities are endless with these striking designs. Good quality paper. Nicely perforated pages that are easily removed. Printed on one side only. This is Marjorie's best book Ever. I am in love.
Very nice coloring book, full of details in some cases too much. After awhile you can get tired of coloring in the shapes, but then again that's what gel pens are for. For me using coloring pencils would be very tireing for the hands, since you would have to press hard to bring up the color. The results with the gel pens are beautiful. The designs are tricky when it comes to what colors should go where. It's challenging and the results are rewarding.
As an avid Creative Haven fan, I was super excited to get this book.When I ordered it, I was not aware of the silhouetted images. When I found out that it did in fact have silhouette images, I was a little bit nervous because that was not what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoy it.
This book is terrific. One thing I struggle with in my coloring is skin tones. That is definitely not an issue here. The designs leave it open to be as colorful as you want it to be. Would love to see a African Warrior comprobable book. The male figure with animals. Highly recommended book.
Every page in this book is fabulous. I love the silhouettes & the details on all the pages. I have almost every one of Marjorie's coloring books & love them all. I received this one the other day & can't wait to start coloring in it. The pages are perforated & printed on one side. I recommend this book to anyone who loves to color. You won't be disappointed.
